5 'frolicking deer' , 'kick the door in' and 'cock-struck' stars
In this wonderful addition to the Stage Dive series, Kylie Scott has ROCKED us all again. The characters waltz across our minds, with style and determination, flaunting themselves and laughing their hearty hearts out.
Kylie Scott introduces us, more in depth, to Lena Morrissey and Jimmy - James Dylan Ferris. Lena makes us applaud her self confidence and 'tough as nails' persona. Which all fits perfectly into her take no prisoners, 'fuck it' job description of being Jimmy's sobriety buddy. Her ability to fall for all the bad-boy, waste of time charmers, makes her fall for non other than Jimmy. Her reservations and resolve against THIS bad-boy will be tested.
Jimmy makes me fall in love with his broody, all male intensity, those baby blues gives us some insight into the gentleness within.
"Jimmy's eyes were like a cloudless sky, the perfect blue. They were beautiful,"
Jimmy's life has been a hard, long road to success. Dealing with a broken home - an abusive mother, who is a drug addict, a father that doesn't care and a baby brother that cares too much- Jimmy tries his best to stay strong and handle it all, while falling into the same pit of despair as his no good mother. Years and years of addiction finally comes to an end, with an ultimatum from his brother, David. Either sober up or be kicked out of the band. This is where the lovely Lena, comes in to, Lead. She's a fighter and she has no qualms about beating the living shit out of Jimmy, literally!
My love for this series is only personified by the fact that Kylie gives us all a play by play of all the band mates and their lives. Whilst still making us fall, hate, love the main characters. There's a thin line between love and hate, it's called indifference. My indifference has been chopped up and swished around to make four wonderful words. I love this series.
The wit, sarcasm, funny and childish banter between Lena and Jimmy, and also among them all, keeps us grinning and on the precipice of laugh out loud hilarity.
"Here." I held the shirt our to Jimmy.
He stopped, cocked his head. "You're fired."
"What?"
"Lena, look at it."
"Huh. Well. it's very bright and cheerful. No one will be looking at your face, that's for certain."
"Yeah. That's why you're fired."
"I think the clashing pink and red Christmas trees make quite a statement. And the frolicking deer are kind of cool... wait, is that one just jumping or has it actually mounted the little one beneath it?"
"Oh, goodness. There's even a threesome happening on the back. That shirt really has it all. But I think if anyone could carry it off, it's you."
"The Jimmy Ferris. I mean, whoa. You're basically the style king."
"I don't know why the fuck I put up with you."
I shrugged. "No, me neither. But you keep paying me so I keep hanging around."
Lena continues on with her sassy mouth and funny wit. David's involvement with the shirt just adds to the hilarity and amplifies the intensity that we all know is brewing between Lena and Jimmy.
"What's going on?" David ambled on down the hallway
"How's your face and what the fuck are you wearing?"
"Ask, Lena," Jimmy bit out.
"I can't. Your shirt's so ugly it made her cry."
I laughed even harder.
And then of course the infamous Mal has to put his two cents in also.
"Oh, you're wearing the fucking deer shirt," said Mal,
"That's great, man. I got it for dad as a joke a few years back. But I think it's fantastic that you're secure enough with yourself and your masculinity to go there."
And Lena's at it again, she really just can't keep that sass in.
"I think it suits him." I grinned. "It reflects his inner beauty as few other shirts could."
Despite all the sass, sarcasm and funny banter among them, on a day of hurt and fears, reminiscing and regret, Lena succeeded in making Jimmy
Smiling....A rear feature for the ever scowling Ferris brother.
It's the small things and simple gestures in life that matters most. In a time of need, and emotional turmoil where his courage and determination faltered, Lena became his strength.
That simple gesture created a slow building and burning desire that deepened as Lena continued to work closely with Jimmy. Their late night talks, watching TV, fighting and all the verbal sparring, only intensified her desire for Jimmy.
"Fancy falling for someone you didn't like half the damn time. Who did something so stupid? I mean apart from me obviously."
When Lena admits that she has feelings for Jimmy, he freezes. What can the guy do? He knows he no good for her. At least, that's what his no good mother brainwashed him into thinking. That he is a useless, unlovable person. That he can never be happy.
Lena, being Lena, proves Jimmy wrong. She's strong enough for them both.
"Stupid Jimmy Ferris and his amazing mouth and penis."
"No other man had ever made me feel this wanted, this adored. Sure as hell, none had ever called to me the way he did, body and soul."

"I know your body. I'm not gonna forget it anytime soon." Jimmy.
"I'm all about you, Lena."
The man could dirty talk, let me tell you. I was fanning myself and squirming also.
"I wanna kick you, Lena."
"I love having you squirming against my face, rubbing your pussy on me."
"The smell of you, the taste of you, I love everything about eating you," he breathed.

As usual, Jimmy always did dumb shit, things to fuck something or all of it up. But the man has a way with words, and all the slow breathing and whispers. Ahhhh grrrrr..... panting here hahahhahhahaaa.
“Don’t hate me, Lena,” he whispered. “You want to be mad at me when I do dumb things, that’s fine. But don’t ever hate me. I couldn’t take that, not from you.”
"You're my best friend."
These two..... aahhhhh... they made me fall in love all over again. I was deliriously happy, and even exhausted after being the third wheel in their orgasm induced comas lolz.
"You really love me?" He grunted.
"Say it."
A rare smile. "I love you, Lena."
"About fucking time, Jimmy." I grinned.
"You're my girl." - Jimmy
I went home with the most beautiful man on the planet, Jimmy Ferris, the lead singer from Stage Dive.

This book especially, holds a quaint little space close to my heart. Kylie Scott outdid herself in capturing the intensity of Jimmy and the band, the intensity that was himself and Lena, and the love that he didn't know he had for her. Love doesn't have to be the "I love you" type. It can simply be everything that makes a person be. The fiercest of feelings, the pain when you're away from them, the happiness and smile that lights up your face when that person it near. It's an emotion that is felt and expressed in ways that people never truly understand. Love is a statement of who you are when you're with the person you love.
