Silver Bastard (Silver Valley #1) by Joanna Wylde

Blurb
First in the new Silver Valley series from the New York Times bestselling author of the Reapers Motorcycle Club Novels.

Fourteen months. For fourteen months, Puck Redhouse sat in a cell and kept his mouth shut, protecting the Silver Bastards MC from their enemies. Then he was free and it was time for his reward--full membership in the club, along with a party to celebrate. That's when he saw Becca Jones for the first time and set everything in motion. Before the night ended he'd violated his parole and stolen her away from everything she knew.

Five years. It was five years ago that Puck destroyed Becca and saved her all in one night. She's been terrified of him ever since, but she's even more terrified of the monsters he still protects her from... But Becca refuses to let fear control her. She's living her life and moving forward, until she gets a phone call from the past she can't ignore. She has to go back, and there's only one man she can trust to go with her--the ex-con biker who rescued her once before.

Puck will help her again, but this time it'll be on his terms. No more lies, no more tears, and no more holding back what he really wants...

Ignoring him, I settled back on my stool and surveyed the room. We sat in Becca’s section, and what I saw wasn’t making me happy. I knew she was a good waitress, but she’d just started here and it showed. Not only had she fucked up several orders, she didn’t quite seem to get the rhythm of the bar. That wasn’t my problem, though.
My problem was that despite these fuckups, nobody seemed to mind. I had a nasty suspicion this was due to her perky tits, friendly smile, and tight little ass that seriously just needed a bite taken right out of it.
She really, really needed to get a new job—every man in the place wanted her. Including me. Especially me. I hated them. All of them. I shifted uncomfortably, because just like every time I shared a room with her, my pants had gotten tight.
Torture. Becca was just so fucking fine on every level, and not just her looks. There was something about the way she carried herself . . . I couldn’t put my finger on it. Like she was dancing through life to some song nobody else could hear. Never met another woman like her—she wasn’t just sexy, she was a survivor and I admired that.
She’d grown up so much since the first time I’d met her. Bigger boobs, a nice fullness to her ass that was nowhere close to fat but would be perfect to hold tight while I fucked her. Her lips had plumped, too, and over the years she’d gained a sparkle in her eyes that turned her from pretty to 100 percent spectacular.
Not to mention how she’d tasted.
Nearly blew in my pants when I’d taken that mouth. Just the memory got me hard. Make that harder. Fucking basket case.
When I’d pulled up to find her sitting outside with Collins, a thousand murder scenarios ran through my mind. And yeah, I know I covered that already, but if anything ever deserved empha- sis, this was it. Collins needed to die. I didn’t care how nice he was. After that I’d throw Becca on the back of my bike and make a run for the hills . . .
Okay, so there were a few problems with the plan, the top one being she hated me. Or she should—I’d certainly given her cause. Boonie nudged me.
“Did I mention you’re pathetic? You want her, take her. Other- wise let it go because you’re an embarrassment to all men in general and to the Silver Bastards in particular.”

Finally being released from jail, after a fourteen month incarceration, Puck Redhouse is looking forward to his freedom and a woman between his legs. In celebration of his release, his club is throwing a party. Being on the inside, all Puck had was his hands and his imagination. But what he really wanted was a supple female to ease away all his stress and give him the long awaited release he has been craving. Seeing Becca for the first time, he knows she, is who he wants. After a night with Becca, things start to heat up. He soon realizes that Becca is a pawn used by her step-father to obtain any end-result he needs. Her mother is a junkie, and can't even be called a mother. She sits ideally by and allows sixteen year old Becca to be physically passed around among and between the club brothers and outsiders. Puck ends up saving Becca from her sordid lifestyle, not by choice, and takes her home with him to Idaho.

I'm not your friend, Becca.
I've never been your friend and I never will be.

I can be the man that fucks you and owns you,
or
I can be the man who keeps an eye on you..."

Five years later, Puck and Becca have rarely seen each other and interacted. In those years, Becca has continued to be great full for the life Puck gave her. Even though Puck saved her from the atrocities of her MC and step father, she is still fearful of him. He is dark, rough and hard, with a persona of steel. But, Becca couldn't stop thinking about him.

Becca is all grown up. As a teenager she was stunning,  but as a young woman, she is drop dead gorgeous. Getting her life on track, Becca has finished her academics and has enrolled in Beauty School. She wants to be more than what her mother turned out to be. Becca has grown up seeing her mother make mistake after terrible mistake. Her aim in life is to survive, work hard, keep her head down, and without a doubt, NEVER turn out like her mother. Becca made decisions based her past and the mistakes of her mother. Wanting to stay clear of trouble.

Everyday for the last five years I asked myself the same question
– what would my mom do? –
Then I’d do the opposite.

Growing up around and within a motorcycle club, Becca knows the dangerous things that go on. She's more than aware of the lifestyle and the demands it makes on each member. Puck's association to an MC, surfaces memories of her past life, and it's difficult for Becca to succumb to her attraction to him.

Puck has kept his distance for the last five years, only checking in on her ever so often. Always keeping his attraction and his delicious thoughts and imaginations of Becca to himself. As the plot thickens and Pucks past taunts him, he throws caution to the wind and finally decides that Becca is worth the trouble.

“We’ve been in a relationship for five years now,” Puck said, his voice hard. “It wasn’t normal, it wasn’t exclusive . . . Hell, I don’t know what the fuck it was, but we both know that’s the truth. Whatever’s between us, it’s been there since the first night we met.”

"Let's clear things up," he said, his tone catching me off guard.

"This isn't a onetime thing. I'm claiming you, Becca. Already talked to the club about it - they know you're mine. That's how it works in my world. End of story."

I always love a story that starts off rocky and isn't a walk in the park. All the complications involved just creates greater intensities and the alpha-male exhibitions, are to die for. I love the way Puck just made demands or rather statements and then he carried out his intentions. Never asking just doing. It gave me the chills.

I don't say sweet things and make love and all that bullshit.
I like sex hard and rough, no holding back.
