She would rather not.
Cherri has complicated stamped all over her. Jax doesn’t need a woman like her messing up his life.
Too bad he can’t stop thinking about her.

Then she meets Jax.
He’s gorgeous, sexy, and a cocky bastard. His tattooed, ripped chest and biceps makes her drool. She knows she should run far away from him, but her body wants him in the worst way.
Just as she begins to relax, her past collides with her new life. Cherri must navigate a deadly obstacle course littered with outlaw motorcycle clubs and a power-hungry politician.
Jax won’t stop until he claims Cherri. He vows to protect and love Cherri no matter what. When put to the test, will Jax betray his family—the Insurgents MC, or will he lose the woman he loves forever?
Chiah Wilder is the author of Hawk’s Property, the first book in the Insurgents MC Series. It is a full length, standalone novel. Its release date is set for October 27, 2015. Always a lover of books, she began writing at a young age and continued through college with collections of short stories. Figuring she had to grow up and get a “real” job, her writing was placed on the back burner. Her love of reading has always be center front in her life. Chiah’s love of bad boys both in and out of fiction has inspired her Insurgents series. She loves an alpha male whose softer side is brought out by a passionate, spirited woman. In fiction there are no rules or boundaries, and fantasies can go as far as the characters want to take them. Steamy, biker romances with rough, sexy bad boys are her guilty pleasure along with brownies, cheddar cheese, and movie marathons. Returning to writing has been a dream come true. Writing and publishing Hawk’s Property has been an amazing journey, and she is happy to share the Insurgents family with her readers. She is busy writing her next book in the series. My review of Book 1 - Hawk's Property (Insurgents #1)
Chiah Wilder does not disappoint in Jax's Dilemma. She created a riveting tale of brutality in it's most savage form. Forged with some prominent themes and tackling certain forms of addiction. Chiah Wilder makes us believe that there isn't hope. She instils hatred and anger. Pain and remorse. Love and loss, but mostly, she gives us two lost children adapting to their circumstances and coming out on top. The journey of each is vastly different from the other, yet the pain is still lingering from their pasts. But, when the past rises and infiltrates the present, we will see how one young woman, fights for all she has. And one young man, will get pass his anger and surge forward, like a knight in shining armour. Albeit, he's actually in leather and on a motorcycle. But you all get where I'm going with this lol. :):)
We met Cherri in Book 1, where she got caught up with a sex trafficking ring, and was rescued by the Insurgents MC. Being alone and looking for work, with her past experiences, she is offered a job, stripping in a club owned by the Insurgents. In turn they will take care of her. It's at this point, in book 2 we learn that Cherri has had a more than rough past. Sexually abused by her stepfather, in every possible way and in every opening possible. Words of hatred and lack of self worth was constantly spewed at her. Solidifying in her young, naive and impressionable mind. That she is worthless and not capable of being more than a man's plaything. Psychologically, this has set Cherri up for mistakes and failures that all lead her to the present day. Mistakes that sees her running from one bad situation, getting caught in another, to end up doing what she does best, Stripping.(Everyone's gotta make a dollar. No judgement here).
Jax, Sergeant-at-arms to the Insurgents MC, had known this brotherhood from his father's days of being a member. A little boy hanging around, the MC was his second family, up until the death of his old man. Now, they are the only loyalty he knows. Women and booze come easily. Flowing regularly and just as easy as the women hanging around the club. Never in Jax's mind, did he think, nor was he ready for a woman like Cherri. And believe me, he was a serious freaking man whore. I had loads of WTF! moments. The need to throw my kindle (yes my poor baby) and even jump right in and strangle the ever loving crap out of Jax. He infuriated and annoyed me. Gave me goosebumps and love bites (yup, figuratively -stupes). At times, I felt his endearments were even too overdone. And I got fed up. but despite that, he was seriously kick ass and hard core as they come.
These two kept dancing around each other. Or rather, I should say Cherri did. Jax was clear from inception that he wanted a taste. Even though he knew, deep down, that Cherri captured his interests more than carnally. Cherri's feelings for Jax was known from the minute she started her tough girl, take no prisoners attitude. She was down right vicious when it came to Jax. His character and behaviour was the very past she was running from. Not wanting to succumb to past traits of being a man's plaything. Cherri's mission is to earn money in order to have a better life and to protect those she hold close.
But with Jax, she knows, one slip and the past could smack her right in the face. Yet, all her anger and jealousy was seriously unnerving whenever she saw Jax with other women. She started infuriating me with her, I want him, but I don't want him attitude. But, I did understand her plight. Afraid of falling into old habits and allowing a man to control and dictate her pace. Knowing Jax is a strong character. She needed to protect herself, her heart and her loved ones.
Jax and Cherri didn't have an easy start. Other than them being damaged by their parents and living through their pasts, they each had a tough time letting the other in. The many ups and downs, was actually more downs, than anything else. Cherri's fears were prominent throughout the story, while battling with flashbacks of brutality and the truth of her mother's obsession. The lack of love, and the despair and loneliness that accompanied it all.
Jax and Cherri were well developed and aptly portrayed characters. The issues put forth and the themes within the novel were strong and very much realistic. I wished CW would have touched a little more on Cutting. It showed it's ugly head in the book, but I felt, it wasn't enough for such a powerful story. The softer parts of the novel concerning family and innocence was heart warming and so tender.
Getting some insight on Hawk and Cara was lovely also. They are my favourite couple so far. I'm excited for Chas's Fervor. And I can't wait for Banger's story and one with his little girl also. That should be freaking slamming.
Abandoned, separated and lonely. These two will battle the past, the present and they will fight for their families.
"Yesterday is gone. Today is the beginning for us."
