I battled tremendously with this rating and review. It's always difficult for me to rate a book poorly. Especially when I understand an author's hard work and dedication. Sweat, tears and joy. Anger and frustration at times.

In my attempt to not give the story away, I will be as honest as possible. This in no way reflects negatively on the author. Every reader has different tastes. This book simply wasn't for me.

Initially, I loved the premise of the book. The way I felt connected to the heroine because of a single phrase:

"I have lost my individuality. Most days I am a mom and a wife, not Reagan."

This simple worded and single phase tore me apart. The connection was instantaneous. Mostly because I related to the emotions and feelings of Reagan. Becoming a mother has been the most amazing experience and daily, I learn and make mistakes. Get angry and fed up. Sometimes, I lose my mind. But, in hindsight, it's all so inconsequential when I feel the love of my daughters.

As I got into the story, we're given some strong emotions from the heroine. We get a doting and loving husband. And then, the mystery character- a friend, family and a past love.

Reagan and Dalton have been married for years, with three boisterous boys. These two have shared everything in their lives and they are the best of friends. When Dalton mysteriously announces that he has to leave for business for a couple of months, Reagan is heartbroken and thorn apart. But, when Dalton asks his cousin to stay with the family. This is where things start to heat up.

As the story progresses we're given some twists and turns that even though predictable, still makes the story intersting enough.

My major issues with this story was my connection to the characters. Reagan was so bloody needy!! I wanted to drop her in my blender and make paste. She's so darn pliable. Get a freaking backbone!! will you.

Then there is Dalton, the husband. The most annoyingly sweet and overwhelming sacrificial lamb there is. He has loved Reagan since childhood. But he knew, she never loved him. So, when tragedy struck, he used this opportunity and his love for her, to get what he always wanted. His very own family with Reagan.

Now bear in mind, it wasn't that easy. They had to work at their marriage and it took Reagan quite a while to acclimatize to Dalton. But, because of this, she felt indebted to him. At least that's the way it came across to me.

Reagan and Dalton were so blasé. They were overdone as characters and for the love of GOD!, no one's marriage is that freaking sweet(this is in the present). Nothing against it, just keeping it real. The fiction became to fictional, that is was unbelievable and lacking.

Now, the mystery character, was gorgeous! and I got some angst and alpha maleness and hotness. So yaayy!! me.

This story wasn't my cup of tea. Please don't base reading this, solely on my review. We all have varying tastes.
