The Viper (Untamed Hearts #1) by Kele Moon

Synopsis

Marcos Rivera is a fighter. A gang member. Someone who has seen the dark side of humankind and survived. He has lost family and gained enemies. He has stolen cars and destroyed hearts, stripping one for money and the other for pleasure. His past is haunted and his future is bleak.

Until her.

Katie Foster is a high school history teacher. Smart, strong, and sexy. She is a woman Marcos shouldn’t want. Shouldn’t touch. Shouldn’t love. He met her in Garnet, a backwards, hick town that’s the last place in the world he wants to be, but he finds himself going back for a taste of the forbidden.

Katie represents all that is good in the world, and Marcos knows he’s nothing but trouble for her perfect life. He fights and he screws. He commits crimes and he breaks the rules. He will never change and he will never escape his gang lifestyle.

Or can he?

What happens when two different people from two very different walks of life risk it all by giving into the passion that threatens to consume both of them? Can a woman who only knows how to play it safe give her heart to a man who lives hard and loves harder?

Will she survive The Viper?

About The Author
A freckle-faced redhead born and raised in Hawaii, Kele Moon has always been a bit of a sore thumb and has come to enjoy the novelty of it. She thrives on pushing the envelope and finding ways to make the impossible work in her story telling. With a mad passion for romance, she adores the art of falling in love. The only rules she believes in is that, in love, there are no rules and true love knows no bounds.

So obsessed is she with the beauty of romance and the novelty of creating it, she’s lost in her own wonder world most of the time. Thankfully she married her own dark, handsome, brooding hero who has infinite patience for her airy ways and attempts to keep her grounded. When she leaves her keys in the refrigerator or her cell phone in the oven, he’s usually there to save her from herself. The two of them now reside in Florida with their three beautiful children, who make their lives both fun and challenging in equal parts—they wouldn’t have it any other way.

4 Stars

The Viper is one of those books that just sucks you in from the beginning. I devoured this in one sitting and there was something magical that kept me engrossed till the end. It could be the naive good girl falling for the bad boy or even the bad boy falling for the good girl. Which, let's be honest, always gives a better story. But for me, it was that Marcos Rivera, ex-convict, gang member, underground fighter - wild, dangerous, enigmatic and womanizing - with a passion and love for his family, that fell in love and was completely floored by the beguiling innocence and boundless love of simpleton Katie Foster. A sweet and naive school teacher with a heart of gold and an iron clad willpower. It was Katie's inner strength that drew Marcos to her. That, and her unyielding devotion to him, Marcos. A man that doesn't deserve a woman like Katie. A man that is lawless and lives for danger.

Two persons with the most horrendous bad luck ever, one chance meeting in the harshest and most devastating of circumstances, Katie and Marcos's fates both change as the dawn of the New Year sets in. Hurt in a car accident, Katie meets Marcos, and the strength that pours out of them each, is the glue that will become unyielding and push them together.

"maybe two negatives can make a positive."

Both Marcos and Katie goes back to their normal lives, but something is essentially missing and both, thousands of miles away from each other, can not stop thinking about the other. Too many "what ifs." Katie wants to live a life of passion and contentment; unlike her past life, married (now divorced) to a boring, missionary style man, whose only mission in life is to keep up appearances. After her run in with The Viper, Katie has become stronger, more confident and her willpower is a force to be reckoned with. She is a woman who knows what she wants, and she'll be darned if she doesn't go after it.

Even though Marcos knows he's bad for Katie, he can't stay away, she is the light in his dark and twisted world. After finding secret messages on-line from Katie, Marcos takes fate into his own hands. He drives fourteen hours and his prize at the end of the rainbow is a gorgeous History teacher that's a perfect TEN.

Marcos got a woman that rivaled all others he had and was accustomed to. She pushed him, and all his limits. Katie made him want to be a better man, still a dangerous man, wild and passionate in bed with her, but still dangerous when it came to those he loved.

Kele Moon gave me a romance story that was fiercely passionate. Not only through lovers, but family and friendships. Bonds were created from varying backgrounds and lifestyles, lives were changed, and as they say, History was made!!!. lolz. lame I know, but say what!!.

Can't wait for The Slayer's story -Chuito!!!!!
